Alright, time for a much-anticipated update on the grand transformation of our two annexe rooms! The excitement is almost too much to contain—seriously, who knew a spot of decorating could rival the Finals at Wimbledon? After much heated debate (and perhaps one or two cups of overly strong tea), the committee has settled on the new name for our soon-to-be-glorious library. And the winner, by overwhelming popular vote, is...Drum roll.  Book Haven! If you listen closely, you can almost hear the books sighing with relief at their newfound paradise.

Of course, before we can use about in our newly christened Book Haven, there are a few little maintenance matters to tackle—nothing a dab hand and a stiff upper lip can’t sort! First up, the ceiling is crying out for a bit of TLC. Now, here’s a mystery worthy of Poirot: is it a suspended ceiling masquerading as a ‘normal’ one, or are we in for a vaulted surprise? Only the ceiling knows—and perhaps the odd spider. I can think of one committee member who’ll be making themselves scarce when it comes time to commune with the local spider population!

 Next, the carpet is practically begging for a bath; it’s seen more action than the centre court at Wimbledon. And finally, a lick of paint to make the rooms look less ‘haunted house’ and more ‘five-star reading retreat’. Who says maintenance can’t be a jolly good adventure?
